An Early Start

It was early.  Too early.  Merril was awake and so was I.  I asked if she was leaping out of bed.  She told me she was thinking of it.  Though she suggested slither might me a better word.
I can tell it was too early as I imagined her slithering down the hall and giving our fish a fright when she poked her head above the bench.  Then her slithering over to get a coffee.
I am a morning person and got up soon after.  I avoid leaping out of bed as I do not want to hit my head on the ceiling.
I have been that way for ages.  I do remember a number of us hitting the golf course early.  A bit early really as we teed off and could not see where our balls landed.  We waited until there was more light and started again.
I could be considered a bit hyper in the morning.  I am constantly reminded of a cartoon from years ago featuring two dogs.  One dog would be constantly running around saying something like “wanna game of ball, do ya, do ya?”  The other dog would be totally unimpressed and not wanna game of ball.
Being a morning person I tend to get heaps done early.  I do run out of steam, but not before I have crossed a number of things off my “to do” list.
Merril on the other hand tends to be a night person.  She gets heaps done later in the day.  Usually after I have taken myself off to bed.  Though sometimes to her credit she tries to be a “burn the candle at both ends” person.  I say to her credit as often it is - though sometimes it isn’t.  Her lethargy the days following sort of gives it away.
I can only think it is maybe because she is like three years younger than me.  It is amazing what these youngens get up to.  I sometimes see her dancing.  I still dance – but mostly on the inside.  Having said that I know I do a pretty mean “sprinkler” dance.
I can see a bit of light in the morning sky, so I had better go.  Wanna game of ball?  Do ya?  Do ya?
