All Quiet on the Western Front

Yesterday ended up being a rest day.  I had all sorts of intentions for it but I was glad none of the physical labour came to pass.
For sure there were things I got done and was really happy to do them.  Most was later in the afternoon.  I slept a good bit of the day and watched some tv.
And ate.  Not like one guy on tv who was talking about his problem with binge eating.  Or a number of girls talking about their anorexia.  My eating was what one would expect.  Except most of it was unseen.  “I think I will have a piece of toast or three.”  “It is time for a couple of biscuits.”  It was time for a couple of biscuits a couple of times.
It was between the eating and sleeping I actually did get done some things I knew I had to do.  As with most things it seems the hardest part was to make a start. I had a couple of newsletters to write and something to put up on a web page I look after.  I did the three and am definitely pleased to have done them.
I have just remembered something else I would like to finish.  Perhaps today will be the day.  Perhaps not.  I also normally run a zoom group today and have notes of what I need.  No notes today though.  That will make it interesting for sure.
I also have a routine I follow on Tuesdays of blowing the leaves on paths and getting the place ready for visitors.  I have that to look forward to but now is definitely not the time.  It is too early.  Barely light.  Besides being against the law, no neighbours would thank me for starting up equipment this early.
Now is not the time for noise.  But no one has told the crows that.  I can hear them at a distance.  I think where they roost.  I think I will hear them closer down the track.  The Corella’s have just taken off to their hunting ground for the day.  I use the term hunting loosely.  I often see them in fields eating the seeds.
But that is the future.  Right now peace predominantly reigns.  I will play my part.
