All in a Day’s Work
Yesterday turned out well.  We knew it would be a biggy but we were prepared for it.  We had prayed about it, discussed it and planned it.
Merril does sewing in the morning.  I see a mate regularly.  He comes to my joint and the next time I go to his.
It was the afternoon we knew we had our work cut out for us.  We clean a place and this time we knew we had to tidy an area that had been a work zone.  As it is a kids play area we knew it had to be made safe.  This involved covering some steel posts so if anyone tripped or ran into the post they would not hurt themselves.
There are no doubt proper solutions for such things but we had thought in the short term cut  pool noodles should work.  I had a shed we had put together I wanted to reorganize and populate.
What I really liked about the time is that we had a mind to do the stuff.  We had committed the afternoon to it and were as relaxed about it as could be.
In fact we had been into it about an hour when it was decided we needed to eat.  We went off to subway.  We wanted to get the noodles on the way back.  A visit to the Reject shop yielded no noodles.  The guy in charge said he expected them the 15th.  That did us no good.  So we went to Kmart.  They had heaps.  We got what we needed.
Merril finished vacuuming and preparing the site.  She then cut the noodles and we both put them onto the posts.  It looked good and as someone said they were even colour co-ordinated.  It was not like this had been foremost in our mind but we had thought “there is blue in the play equipment so it will not clash.”
Once up I said to Merril it made me feel like running into the post head first.  Didn’t happen though.  Probably a good thing.  Still we felt the site was all set to be used.
We had wanted to do heaps yesterday so we could have today doing something completely different.  We have a few trips in the car planned for today.  It feels good to be able to do what needs to be done in a relaxed manner.
