All In A Day's Work

29/1/2024

Yesterday was a good day.  As is usual we started Monday at 6am with a prayer get together.  It was really good.  e had plans for the day and it was a good start.  We felt involved in a bigger picture.  It is not just ourselves we want the best for, but others as well.
But today is raining.  I don’t know what I will get done.  I may be an undercover agent.  Under the covers sounds good.
There has to be some advantages in aging.  Not having to rush off to work is good.  Been there, done that. For decades.  I enjoyed then and now.   I do like being able to work when I want to and rest when I want to.  From my experience not being old would be better, but it is a fact of life that for most it turns out they do get old, and it comes with benefits and downers.
Merril and I have been getting heaps do at home and elsewhere.  It is not always the case, but it is right now, and I am very much inclined to go with it.
I have printed off a number of invitations to let people know they can drop off scrap metal in an outside location at our place.  This happens every couple of months.
If figure that I have metal to get rid of and I am sure neighbours have the same so to make it worthwhile to the collector, I let as many as possible know about it.  It is an opportunity to meet the neighbours. I am a people person.  The ones close I know and we talk about various things from time to time, but this gives me a chance to meet others further afield (neighbouring streets).
That is not always the way I get to meet people.  There is a couple close by who have a tree that produces more fruit than they can deal with.  So they put excess out.  Merril and I have let them know we are involved in a food pantry and that we take (with their approval and encouragement) fruit that is given to anyone who would like some.
Merril is attending to things today concerning her dad’s legacy.  I can see me working inside.
