All in a Day's Work

The day was a good one.
There were six of us ready willing and able to work.  We checked with the person where we were, and each did assigned tasks.  The weeding was more difficult than we thought it would be.  That was because the grass was interspersed with good plants.
My most exciting moment when I saw a spider under someone’s collar.   I asked them to stand still and then I flicked the spider to the ground.  I was glad it worked first go.
It was definitely not a tiny spider.  I had actually not seen one before like it though in reading about it, it is common in this area.  Turned out to be a Black House Spider.  I asked google was it poisonous as google seems to know everything.
Turns out it is but not lethal.  It rarely bites but when it does the explanation is “While the bite of the black house spider is not usually lethal, it is venomous and can cause harmful and uncomfortable effects to the bitten victim.”
Anyway we had a good look at it and put it in a tree as we were in its area.  In the house would have been different.  I do think though “you saved my life” might have been a bit much.  That incident probably lasted only 2 minutes and then it was back to work.
The day may not have been as hot as it has been, but it was humid.  We perspired a lot.
But what I did enjoy was the company.  It is great when all have a mind to work and that is why we were all there.  Yet weeding gave us a good chance to chat.  Marril and I were able to share how life has unfolded for us and to hear stuff that can only be heard when spending time together.
I must admit I was looking forward to morning tea and it was really nice but seemed too short.  Still we got back to work after it and at the appointed time made tracks home.  Not before making, what I believe, was a positive difference.
