Air-conditioning

It is unbelievable really.  We spend so much time, money and effort on the shed to have it look pretty well exactly the same.
We decided we would like to have the shed insulated and air conditioned.  Both Merril and I share reasons for having it done but we would differ in chief motivations.  Merril feels hot and cold like no one I have ever come across.  Having the place air conditioned takes the edge off.  I find in the middle of summer playing table tennis there really hot.  Great if I wanted to lose weight but apart from my tummy any weight I lose would make me look gaunt.  I think the air con there will make it more pleasant.
But making that decision meant work and lots of it.  We had to clear the area for a start.  If the walls were to be worked on access was needed.  All regular activities needed to cease.  No gathering of people there, no table tennis, no spa’s (it had to be emptied and the fence cut).
That was good in that it gave us a chance to determine what we really wanted in there.  Though it did not help that the first guy that quoted was a no show when it came time to do it.  We were back to square one.  We needed someone to do it.  We knew we could have but really did not want to.  Plus there are some pretty high places and scampering up a ladder is not our forte.
Fortunately a friend recommended someone who was a qualified plasterer.  They insulated and clad the building.  When giving the quote we needed to move stuff even more.  That was easier because we had done it before.  Even the bookcases empty of books proved easy to move when empty.
It took a week of coming and going but there came a time when it was done.  Now it was our turn to work.  We had decided what colour was wanted to paint the joint.  Something soothing.  Not a colour that would be in your face and inspire fights.
We have started moving things back and broken the back of it.  The place can be used now and things we still need to do can be done at our leisure.
