Ag Pipe

We have ag pipe laid at our place. At the moment it is in two locations but we want to make it four.
It is there because of flooding. Remember rain? There was a time when we had a lot. Excess water has never been a problem to us, but if we can, we would like to avoid it.
When we bought the place the back yard was like a blank canvas. We have since done a few things like add a shed, pool area, gardens and wood pile. Doing this has caused flooding. Not for us, but for the neighbour lower than us. In wanting to alleviate the problem, I discovered water was coming into our place from the neighbour above us. A glued besser brick wall fixed that problem.
Because our neighbour only experienced flooding in their yard after we arrived, I felt obliged to try and rectify this. This was when I buried ag pipe in a garden, next to our car port, and down the front yard. It was all buried when I did it, but the rain has caused some to be exposed. They say out of sight out of mind. Parts of this are not out of mind. My excuse for inaction is, it is another talking point. Fortunately, where it really needs to be buried, it is. I am pleased to say that our neighbour reported that after torrential rain, they had not experienced any flooding. It is always a bonus when something works.
The shed meant we added a raised garden bed to the side and back of that. In the garden bed is ag pipe. The theory works in that excess water runs though the ag pipe and away. It has moved the problem to our house. Fortunately the home has never flooded, but there has been a lot of water flowing by.
That water is the reason we want to add two other lots of ag pipe. We recently had our sitting area enclosed. At ground level we have put down lino and a carpet. We do not want water there. So we have dug a channel where the ag pipe is to go. We have the ag pipe, but the job is not done yet.
The water also heads the other way, where we have converted our garage into a room. Again, we have added lino and do not want that place to flood. The plan is that the ag pipe will solve that. We will divert the water away from the home and down the front. We want the water to go down the front yard (on the other side). To achieve this we need to drill into a concrete slab. That concrete is so hard! Both Merril and I have tried it and we get almost nowhere. It is as though the drill bit goes in a couple of centimetres and refuses to go any further. However where there is a will there is a way. We will solve that problem. It is just we have not yet, and don’t know how at this point, apart from getting professional concrete cutter.
To have water go down the front in an ag pipe means we need to deal with a large sider and web. We don’t want to. He is just trying to make a living like the rest of us. However he is between us and what we want to achieve. He (or she – I really don’t know its gender) has the problem.
