A Waiting Game

Here I am endeavouring to fill in time.  I have the operation in a few hours.  I deliberately tried to sleep in this morning.  Though I don’t think I have slept in for ages.  I was up at 5.30am this morning and I am not used to getting up that late.  It was even light when I arose and I had to work out what I was looking at through the slit in the curtain.
I had had to stop eating at midnight.  That was easy to do as I was asleep.  But it is funny this morning I have had various meals present themselves to my mind and they looked so good.  Then I remembered eating was out.
I was told I could drink till 6.30.  I did plan activities around having the morning cup of coffee by 6.30am.  After that time I could have sips of water only.  It seems the only time I have difficulty showing restraint with food is when I cannot have it.
Still it will not be long I guess until I will have no idea what is happening around me.  I am looking forward to that time and one of the reasons is I should be able to eat again.
Truth is though I have no idea what awaits.  I received a phone call from a friend up north yesterday finding out what procedure was occurring.  It turned out he had exactly the same procedure done about a month ago to the day.
The thing is I hear from so many I need to take it easy and not lift weights.  Merril even does not want me going certain places as she believes (and is probably right) I will see something that needs doing (that I am normally responsible for) and just do it.
There is so much around the yard we had planned for about now, that is on hold for a while.
But that activity is not to be for a while.  I am still unsure why Merril will not get me a bell that I can ring anytime and ask for things.  Maybe it is like a cross I need to bear.  A sacrifice.
