A Quiet Day

Yesterday was a pretty normal Monday. 
We started the day really early by going to a prayer meeting at our church.  It was great to see someone there who had not been in ages.  We did our usual and then went off to breakfast for a catch up with a friend.
Normally when we do such things it is McDonalds but it was closed for renovations. So we went to Hungry Jacks.
A mate came around later in the morning and we had a good time together.  He normally is here about an hour and has other appointments or activities lined up.  That was the case yesterday.  He had already been working in his yard before he arrived.
Like me he is getting longer in the tooth.  I said I was good generally for about three hours.  Then I need a rest.
People are gob smacked when I say how my normal rising time is between 4 and 4.30.  But the fact is I normally have a sleep in the day and the amount of sleep I get is close to what most others have.  It is just at different times.
Later I wanted to contact some friends I had not seen in a while.  One guy had emailed me saying they had had a heart attack and were in hospital.  They email later to say they were home again after having a stent put in and told to rest.
I rang him.  He is as well as can be expected.  The wife was on the ride on mower doing the lawn (they live on a lot of land west of here).  He told me this condition runs in the family.  That to me explains things as I had been surprised he had had a heart attack.  He invited Merril and I to visit at a mutually convenient time and we will.
Someone else I contacted was going for a walk.  They said they intended to ring that night.  They are well and offered to help with a project I am involved in.  I was grateful and accepted.
All in all a quiet day but a goodie.  I know I need that sort of day from time to time.
