A Faction Too Much Friction

It’s funny how a phrase can stand out.  In the book I am reading at the moment a guy declares that he is “proactively lazy.”
The point is being made that in the history of agriculture it was easier to go on an east-west plain as the crops grown require a similar climate.  North-South was more difficult as different climates supported different plants.  So it was asserted that in human history growth in agriculture and populations tended to be greater on an East-West basis than North-South.
The point was, the less friction, the more likely.  Mankind tends to take the easiest option.  While this has been characterized as a negative, it is the way it is and a human characteristic. Less energy is required, and the less energy something takes, the more likely it is to occur.
So when it comes to actions I would like to see in my life, it is recommended I create atmospheres with as little friction as possible.  As in the point, the less friction the more likely something is to occur, even when I least feel like it.  I need to have as much in my favour as possible to make actions more likely even in the tough times.
The thing coming through to me big time at the moment is I have tended to imagine that difficulties were the result of more than they were. There is a reason for things, and it is up to me to discern the source and take appropriate action.  It is important I do not blame the wrong thing in the mistaken belief that what I face is some mystical thing.  It can be, but often it is a very practical thing which I have approached believing it was the result of something it was not.
I know I will not understand everything, and some things I let go of and just trust.  But often things can be started using very down to earth things like ensuring what I want is made easy, rather than difficult.
It may be that I have allowed things get in the way of what my desire really is.  I can see I need to make the things that do me no good difficult to do, and the things I want to do as easy as possible.
I say to myself “your mission Jim, should you choose to accept is to bring the things I want to the fore by making the doing of them as easy as possible.”
A lot happens in me via osmosis.  Change is often absorbed and made a part of me rather than suddenly being one thing and then another.  That happens, but so does gradual change.  Both are good in my mind, and I will take whatever I can get really.
